Yesterday afternoon, Google held their annual Google Analysts Day in Mountain View, California. There were some interesting Internet stats that came out of the meeting including:
Google discussed their integrated strategy which consists of search, ads, and applications. ZDNet has some great coverage of the event. ZDNet also had a great follow up entitled: "Google's Sergey Brin: We don't need to own everything..."
- there are over 1.2 billion users on the Internet (1.244 billion approx.)
- there are 459.5 million users in Asia with only 12.4 penetration
- there are 234.8 million users in North America with 70.0 penetration
In other coverage, Tameka Kee over at Mediapost's Online Media Daily had an excellent piece on how Google is prepping a big brand marketing dashboard. According to Tim Armstrong, president of advertisinf and commerce for North America, the dashboard will be designed to "integrate data from advertisers' search, display and offline marketing efforts, allowing them to "look across assets, metrics and user engagement cycles..."
