So Monday morning as I go through my various feeds and information sources, I come across a number of interesting stories. Here's just a sample of what we're talking about.
Yahoo CMO, Cammie Dunaway is the latest to leave the Yahoo! Family perhaps setting her sights on Nintendo, Disney or Apple. Laurie Petersen over at MediaPost discussed this pointing out that this is just the latest in a recent series of senior-level execs leaving Yahoo!
We thought that this was pretty funny. Bill Hartzer reported a story whereby the Dallas Cowboys attempted to purchase the domain name cowboys.com for $275 not realizing that the asking price for the domain name was actually $275 thousand.
Over at Search Engine Round Table, Tamar Weinberg poses an interesting question for debate on whether organic SERPs on Google are being manipulated to increase ad revenue. While we don't think that Google is doing this, (as they simply have no need to at this point) we're not so sure if the simple fact that paid listings may have some impact on organic results. Paid campaigns that cannibalize an organic campaign happens all of the time. In fact we have seen Paid Inclusion in Yahoo having a definite impact on organic results with some of our our clients. It simply cannot be a coincidence.
Pepsi goes retro with "vintage TV show minisodes". Pepsi is currently working on a bit of re-branding to include logos from the past and in doing so are directing consumers to a new site, ThrowBackPepsi.com to watch new ads on the Minisode Network (via Crackle.com). Get the full story here.
That's just a few examples of some of the stories crossing the "Netwaves" in the past day or two.
