There seems to be a misconception about the importance of Page Rank in Google. Many in the industry think Page Rank to be dead.... but wait just a minute.

I had recently noticed that one of my client's sites was experiencing a number of their pages going into Google's supplimental results. I noticed that some of these pages had limited page rank. Upon further review I found out that my client wasn't the only one experiencing this. So I, of course needed to investigate further. Here's what I have found.
Adam Lasnik of Google recently posted that pages are moved into Google's supplimental index due to the fact that the pages didn't have enough PageRank to make it into Google's main index. Hmm, not enough page rank eh? I'm sensing a theme here.
We know that the only way to improve Page Rank is to generate quality/ reputable backlinks to your site. Adam goes on to mention that "Getting more quality backlinks is generally a good way to get more of your pages in the main index." This information leads me to believe that Page Rank is not dead (I have never believed that anyway). The impact of Page Rank at the bare minimum is this:
Improving your Page Rank will increase the perception as your site being an authority and as a result will help you get more of your pages into Google's main index.
Sounds good enough for me. So tell me do you think Page Rank is dead?
