Well tonight the 2007 World Series begins between the Boston Red Sox and the Colorado Rockies. So care to make your prediction as to who will win? Or if you are researching the two teams, you might want to start with Google. Early favorites suggest that the Red Sox will win, but according to Google Trends, momentum may very well be with the Colorado Rockies.
Interesting to see that since September, search volume in Google for the Rockies has jumped ahead of the Boston Red Sox. This coincides with the amazing run that the Rockies have had over the past month and a half. (Colorado, is in the midst of one of the greatest runs in baseball and sports history and has won 21 of its last 22 games to get to this point.)
While I tend to be one to root for the underdog, I think that the Bo-Sox will take the 103rd World Series title this year. Colorado is looking for their first ever Fall Classic World Series title while Boston is in search of their seventh (having one their last title in 2004, their first since 1918). The Sox have a number of key components such as Big Papi (David Ortiz) and Medium Manny (Manny Ramirez) that may prove too much for the Rockies. Having said that, with the roll that the Colorado Rockies are on, you just never know, they could keep on rolling and win it all. According to Google Trends this may just happen. Good luck to the participants and may the best team win!Labels: 2007 World Series |
