Update on Google Health |
Thursday, October 18, 2007 |
We have had a few questions on the status of Google Health. Earlier today Google's Marissa Mayer said that users can expect to so the Google Health Project to be launched in Spring of 2008. Loren Baker over at Search Engine Journal has the full report. According to Search Engine Journal,
Today at the Web 2.0 Summit in San Francisco, Google’s Marissa Mayer outlined the ways Google can leverage its intense data storage capabilities to bring the medical field a new way of storing and sharing medical information. Microsoft has launched the beta version of their Health Vault Search and earlier this year, acquired Medstory, a Foster City, Calif.-based startup specializing in search software optimized for finding health information. In addition, Yahoo has their Yahoo Health portal where you can find information on wellness, diet, fitness, weight loss, mental health, anti-aging, conditions & diseases, and drugs & medications. It will be interesting to see what Google does with the vast health information that they have compiled and stored.
There are currently a number of great health related sites out there which are used by the masses depending on what you are looking for in terms of health related searches. The health industry is a vast area of interest as users vary from those who may be researching a disease or illness, legal professionals researching health matters, or healthcare professionals who are searching for tips and products dealing with accreditation, regulation and healthcare compliance.
With a topic such as health and wellness, you can never have enough trusted results. Google Health should be another great resource for those looking for such information.Labels: Google Health |
