The rich get richer. Forbes has released its latest billionaire report. Did you know that they are reporting that there are 946 billionaires, 178 of which who are first timers to the exclusive club. That is a crazy statistic. Of the world's population of 6,581,077,053 there are only 946 billionaires - that really is a pretty exclusive group.
So who topped the list? Well Mr. Gates (although I still think that the Sultan of Brunei is worth more than 54 billion). Here's a peek at the top 20 Billionaires in the world:

The oldest billionaire is John Simplot at 98 years of age. I bet you didn't know that this guy was a high school drop out. (makes me wonder why I spent all of that money on my education...heh heh).
There were a number of Canadian billionaires on the list including: (featuring: Rank/ Name / Age/ Net Worth - in billions/Residence)
There are a lot of interesting names on the list. Carlos Slim Helu (# 3 on the list) for example from Mexico was the largest gainer, increasing his worth by 19 billion over the past year thanks to the performance of his wireless telephone company, America Movil.
It's interesting to see that the wealth appears to be changing hands in Europe. The Forbes report goes on to mention that "In Europe, Russia's mostly young, self-made tycoons are catching up to Germany's often-aging heirs and heiresses. Russia now has 53 billionaires (2 shy of Germany's total), but they are worth $282 billion ($37 billion more than Germany's richest). After a 20-year reign, Japan is no longer Asia's top spot for billionaires: India has 36, worth a total of $191 billion..."
