Pubcon Las Vegas Day One - Keynote by Guy Kawasaki |

So it's day one at Pubcon in Las Vegas... and throughout the day I am checking the Pubcon Blog... hmm no updates. Apparently the sessions were a bit late in getting started this morning. What do you expect as attendees arrived in the City of Sin on the weekend? Someone was bound to sleep in.
I am not one of the lucky ones fortunate enough to attend the show. Leading up to the show, I kept having this feeling that something BIG was going to happen. Danny Sullivan the new CEO of Google? No that's not it? Microsoft to buy Yahoo? No that's not it. ASK to bring the butler out of retirement? No that's not it either. I'm not sure what it is yet, but I'm still expecting something huge to come out of Nevada.
It could very well be something from any one of the number of keynotes throughout the conference. Today's keynote for example was from Guy Kawasaki. This is one fascinating fellow. For those of you who are not familiar with Guy check out his latest book The Art of the Start-the Time-Tested, Battle-Hardened Guide for Anyone Starting Anything. In it, Guy reflects his experience as an entrepreneur, investment banker, and venture capitalist. According to Guy he has the "Golden Touch" with his investment opportunities. Sheesh the man even plays hockey. Where does he find the time? |
